Travis Charest

It's not too often a fresh face breaks into comics and gets offered covers on top selling titles but that is exactly what happened to Travis Charest. In 1992 DC Comics hired Travis to do several covers for titles such as the Flash and Batman. Several back-up stories later Travis was given the art chores on DC's new space drama Darkstars, taking over for vet Larry Stroman. His work quickly put him in the spotlight and he began to do work for Jim Lee and Wildstorm Studios on Wild C.A.T.s, Gen 13 and various other books while still freelancing for Marvel and DC on various covers, pin-ups and trading cards. His last regular work was on the second run of Wildcats with writer Scott Lobdel for Wildstorm. Admitting he couldn’t maintain a regular monthly schedule and wanting to push the envelope for his own talents, Travis left Wildstorm and is currently working on a long awaited Metabarons graphic novel for Huminoid Publications. His most recent work can be seen in the pages of the Metabaron RPG and on the cover of Metal Hurlant magazine.
